Stone Faces Winery specializes in South Dakota native wild grape Vitis riparia, as well as cold climate hybrid wines. They offer a wide range of dry, sweet, grape or other fruit wines to cover every type of wine palate in your family. Their wines are known throughout the region as being very traditional, though having very distinct flavors.
Some of their more popular wines include Buck Naked (a black currant and honey wine), Tickle Me (a rhubarb wine), Menopause Merlot (dry with flavors of wild cherry and oak), Artisan Cabernet (red fruits and oak aging for a smooth finish), Wild Grape Wine (their signature wine with grapes harvested in South Dakota), Rushmore Red (local grapes used to make this plum and cinnamon wine), Rushmore White (a German style wine made with local Edelweiss grapes), and their Wild Grape Port (aged for 13 years).
They also traditionally make a special wine for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally each year, with some of the wines including flavors of blackberries, currants, dark chocolate, smoke, leather, summer berries, and coffee. They also produce the original Full Throttle wine for the popular Full Throttle rally location, which was rated a 92 point at the LA International Wine Competition.
