Answers

1. How far is the Powder House Located from Mt Rushmore?
A. The Powder House Lodge is located approx 1.5 miles N of Keystone on Hwy 16A. This leaves us Approx 4 miles from Mt Rushmore.

2. Are you centrally Located to Area Attractions?
A. Yes, The Powder House Lodge is located on Hwy 16A approx. 1.5 miles North Of Keystone, and 4 Miles from Mt Rushmore. Most other attractions in the Hills are 30-45 minutes away with the exception being Deadwood, Hot Springs, and the Badlands, all of which are approximately 1.25 hours in opposite directions.

3. What is your Cancellation Policy?
A. All reservations require a deposit of the first night's lodging on a credit card at the time
of making reservation. We require that all cancellations be made 3 days prior to the
date of the reservation for a full refund of deposit, less cancellation fee. If notification is
less than 3 days in advance, all payments will be forfeited. All cancellations will incur
cancellation fee of $25.00, regardless if cancellation is made 3 days prior to date of
registration. Policy for large groups and Sturgis Rally reservations will be different.

4. Do we need to bring towels and linens, or are they provided?
A. No, the Powder House Lodge provides all towels and linens as well as daily maid service.

5. Do you have a Pool?
A. Yes, the Powder House Lodge has a great heated outdoor pool. The pool is open everyday from Memorial Day Weekend until after Labor Day. Pool hours are from 9 am to 10pm everyday, weather permitting of course.

6. Do you have a Hot Tub?
A. Sadly, the Powder House Lodge does not have a public Hot Tub. However the Honeymoon Cabin does in fact have a nice big covered porch with a private 2 person Hot Tub on it.

7. Do you allow Pets?
A. Yes, the Powder House Lodge does allow Pets. However, there is a one time fee of $15.00.Please realize this is a fee and not a deposit, and will not be refunded at the conclusion of your stay.

8. Will we see wildlife during our stay at the Powder House Lodge?
A. We cannot guarantee that you will see wildlife during your stay. However, it is not uncommon for guests to see Wild Turkey and Deer during their stay. In the past we have also had Elk and Mountain Goats make several Appearances on the Grounds.

9. Do your provide utensils in the kitchenettes?
A. Sorry, but at this time we do not provide utensils nor plates of any kind in the kitchenettes.

10. Do your cabins/rooms have Air Conditioning? Heat?
A. Yes, all of our cabins and rooms have both Air Conditioning and Heat.

11. Do your cabins/rooms have Television?Phone Service?
A. Yes, all of our cabins/rooms have limited cable television in the them. All cabins/rooms also have phone service as well. However, the system is not able to allow for long distance phone calls from the rooms. If you need to make long distance calls from the rooms you must call collect, or use a phone card. Phone cards are available for sale in the office. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Calls can be accepted and transferred to your room at any time during normal office hours.

12. Can we make reservations online?
A. Yes, we are now able to accept reservations online in real time. However, please be aware that our full inventory of rooms will not always necessarily be listed online. If rooms are not available, please call us toll free at 1-800-321-0692. We may be able to find openings for the rooms you prefer. All normal normal reservation policies still apply to online reservations.

13. Do you have high speed Internet?
A. Yes, we do have high speed wireless Internet available in the office and restaurant, that guests may log into. However, we do not have full access across the entire facility, at this time.

14. Do you have onsite laundry facilities?
A. Yes, we do have coin operated onsite laundry facilities for our guests to utilize. Change and laundry soap is also available in the gift shop.

15. Do you take reservations for the restaurant?
A. Yes, we do accept reservations for the restaurant. Are they required? No, reservations are not required,however, we do recommend reservations for parties of 5 or more from mid-June to mid-August.

16.How far are you from Rapid City Regional Airport?
A. The Powder House Lodge is approx a 35- 45 minute drive from the Rapid City Regional Airport. Please click here for directions.

17. Are the rates on the Internet current?
A. Yes, the advertised rates on the Internet are current. However, please realize that we do run specials on rooms throughout the season. While we do try and post these rates on the Internet it is not always possible. This is why we recommend you call us toll free at 1-800-321-0692. We would be more than happy to check availability for you and offer any discounted rates we may have available for you.

18. Is there any discounts on rooms during the off-season?
A. Yes, we do offer discounted rates during the off season. Off-season rates are generally available before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Please be aware that off-season rates are fully discounted, therefore we will not offer any further discounts for AAA/AARP members. Please fee free to call us toll free at 1-800-321-0692, and we will check availability and let you know of any special off-season rates.

19. Is the Powder House Lodge open Year-round?
A. No, the Powder House Lodge is only open seasonally. A general rule of thumb is we will open mid-week just after Mothers Day in May, and will remain open until the second week of October. However, we do answer our phones and accept reservations all year. If you are calling during our off season and are unable to reach us, please leave a voicemail, and we will return your call.
